Devon art visit, Thursday 26th September 2019
One of the paintings in David Tovey’s collection – Ludovici – Fish Sale, St Ives
At Cornish art historian David Tovey’s excellent January lecture about the St Ives Artists and the local fisherfolk, a question was asked about where we could see the wonderful art he used as illustrations during his lecture. His reply was “my house”, since he has assembled a fabulous collection of around 200 of these currently underappreciated artists’ work, followed by “why not come and see them?”
We have now organised a visit on Thursday 26th September to his house near Broadwoodwidger in Devon, followed by lunch at the Lakeside Cafe on the shores of Roadford Lake more details here This is a self-drive tour but if you need a lift, let us know when you book. The cost is just £6 each including tea/coffee but excluding lunch which is extra.
As the date of the visit is so soon after our lecture, we are encouraging you to book now rather than wait until the lecture so that we can confirm bookings and arrangements. To make booking easier, we have created a booking form to download in two formats :
These detail the full itinerary and how to book and pay, which can be done by email or by post . We require payment with your booking please, otherwise we are unable to accept it.
Please book now to ensure your place, there may be an opportunity at the lecture, subject to availability.
