West Cornwall Decorative and Fine Arts Society has made a substantial donation to the Student Hardship Fund of Truro and Penwith College. The College hosts the Society’s monthly arts lecture in the Zennor Building on the College’s Penzance site as part of its commitment to the local community. WCDFAS Chair Liz Woods said, “We are happy to be able to support the College Hardship Fund by making this donation. Using the Zennor Building with its state of the art facilities and its wonderful view makes an enormous difference to us and we are delighted to be able to give something back. NADFAS (The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies) is above everything an educational organisation, promoting interest in the arts and in conservation. Students of the College can attend our lectures for free and our Young Arts project in conjunction with St Ives School is just getting off the ground.”

Martin Tucker, the Director of the Penwith College site said “It is part of our purpose to support the local community and we are delighted to see the wonderful new buildings at the College used by local people. Sadly the Student Hardship Fund is all too necessary and this money will be put to very good use.”
